Why does Ebay force you to re-list a return?
I do not accept returns, but when my latest sale requested to return an item, eBay's automated responses basically said, you really better let them return it because buyers can get even in their reviews. So I allowed it. I have a real problem with porch pirates in my area, so bad that we can no longer accept shipments from Bezos's company and must have them sent to a locker.
The return did arrive, the post office FOR ONCE did follow my directions on where to hide it so I got it, but that is out of the norm. However, I discovered that eBay forces you to automatically relist the item. What happens if the return is stolen? How do you stop the auto re-list? There is no one at eBay to tell that the return got stolen and you don't have it to sell?
How do you handle telling a buyer that no returns means NO RETURNS?

Mentor9 months agoIf the return is stolen from your porch, you are responsible. Can you find a secure location for your deliveries?
Ebay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers overrides your "No returns" policy.

OP9 months agoWe have looked into that, and we would have to pay for a PO Box, which means we would have all our mail held at the post office. Both my husband and I are handicapped. We can control how often we purchase from Bezos to limit the trips to the locker location, but not the amount of mail we receive. I looked into having the post office hold packages, but that is only a temporary thing for a set time, not something we can do permanently. So we are feeling trapped. I think Ebay has to stop the auto re-list because I can't be the only person having problems with porch pirates.

Mentor9 months agoIf you don't want your item to be relisted, simply uncheck the Relist item box when issuing the refund.
