Why does EBay always side with the buyer on the MBG
Summary: college2go is frustrated with eBay's policy favoring buyers in disputes, leading to financial losses from refunded items they believe were accurately described. They have experienced an increase in returns, suspecting buyers exploit the 'item not as described' reason to secure refunds. They express a desire to appeal several case decisions but are unsure how to proceed, questioning when eBay will support sellers and expressing disillusionment with the selling experience. They are seeking guidance on the appeal process to address this trend and potentially reduce their losses.
Hi, my item was exactly as described. I took very close up photos of a pendant/charm for detail reasons. I explained everything in my listing about it but did not write a size of it. My page states no refunds. However, that doesn’t seem to matter. The lady had buyers remorse. This happened on two of my listings. On another listing the lady asked for a cancellation because she purchased the wrong size. I had already shipped the item. Then she does a return request for item not described accurately. Our messages say she bought the wrong size and the description was exactly as described but they gave her the money back anyway. The other two items same thing. However, I did describe it accurately. They still gave them their money back. Do they read the interaction or messages between the seller and the buyer? Do they care? Because now I’m paying shipping both ways. I’m out all that money and the buyers are being untruthful. That’s not fair to the sellers. I don’t know about you but it seems to me that the buyers complain about anything just to get their money back or even a partial refund. When you sell something for 8.00, it’s not worth paying for return shipping. I want to appeal 3 case decisions, but I don’t know how to do that. Do you know how I can do it? Is there an email I can write? I’ve been on eBay for 20 years and hardly had any returns. In the past month alone, I’ve had about 20!!!!!!! It’s ridiculous and I’m not doing anything different. When a buyer uses not as described they know they are going to get their money back. Furthermore, they practically threaten me with feedback. The last buyer said I want to know what you are going to do about it before I leave feedback for you. I take that like a threat. I’m about ready to leave eBay. When does eBay stick up for the seller. This is getting ridiculously expensive. Furthermore, it used to be fun and now it’s a hassle. If you could only imagine what I would like to say to these buyers. I’m just tired of it. Rant over (maybe). So, I need to appeal. How do I do that? Please help me. I’m going crazy and broke at the same time. Thank you so much in advance. Just note 19!of those years maybe 3 returns. This year alone maybe 50 total. That’s crazy. It’s new stuff.

This is how you should handle returns
1) Accept the return and issue the label
2) When the item is returned, inspect it
3) Block the Buyer https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock
4) Report the buyer for misusing the Money Back Guarantee here if appropriate: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/resolving-buyer-issues/reporting-issue-buyer?id=4084
5) Issue a refund
6) Appeal the case to eBay
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/appeal-outcome-case-seller?id=4369
If your buyer is already refunded, you can do steps 4 and 6
If you offer returns, and are a Top Rated Seller, you can at times, issue a partial refund.
