Why does Ebay allow sellers that are marked by so many as SCAMS?
What happens when you make an order, and then you find out the good reviews were bogus, and the bad reviews all warn its a SCAM?

It is often possible to learn quite a bit about a seller prior to making a purchase by examining the seller's feedback page closely, concentrating on feedback from buyers.
Some tips about what to look out for can be found in this old thread, which predates automated feedback:

eBay doesn't measure a seller by his feedback (which is an opinion of the buyer and may or may not be factual). They do measure a seller by how many cases are opened for transaction from him that either don't arrive or are not as described.
Did you have one of those problems with your order?
