Why do the new Baby Clothing Sizes not work on the File Exchange?
Summary: daisychainclothingkids expressed frustration with eBay's file exchange, which does not support uploading standardized children's sizes with months, such as 9-12 Months and 12-18 Months, despite being able to handle sizes in years like 2-3 Years. They find this oversight disappointing, particularly since all guidelines are followed, and suspect that eBay may be unaware of the problem. The author is seeking a workaround from other users and has tried notifying eBay without success.
I am wondering why the eBay file exchange will not let you upload their forced children's sizes of 9-12 Months, 12-18 Months, 6-9 Months etc.
eBay has gone to all the effort of standardising sizes and forcing you to comply with these sizes, but they haven't bothered to fix the file exchange properly so you can actually upload these sizes. Talk about a Rookie error!
It works fine for the years: 2-3 Years, 3-4 Years etc. But as soon as you try and upload a size with Months in it, the file exchange won't allow it and says:
Error - ""12-18 Months"" is not a valid value for Size. Select a value from the available options.
I'm not surprised that something as fundamental as this has been missed based on track record, but it is still very disappointing when you follow all their guidelines, just to be let down by someone dropping the ball at their end.
I am curious if anyone else who uses the File Exchange has come up with a workaround in the meantime?
I am guessing the relevant people at eBay are not even aware of this error, despite my attempts to let them know through the conventional support channels. So I am not holding my breath while I wait for this to be rectified.
Bemused but not surprised.
Daisy Chain.
