Why do sellers on Ebay cancel a sale for unlikely or false reasons?

First seller said the product was damaged in shipping: I was the recipient, so how did they know? Are they buying from someone and reshipping to me?

Second seller said my address was wrong. It's auto generated by the payment and has been a good address for every shipper for over 5 years.

Three orders in 3 weeks and only one seller came through for me.

Those sellers are misrepresenting the reason for the cancellation in order to avoid defects on their account. You can report them here:

Select The seller has violated one of eBayâ€™s policies and click Continue.
On the next page, enter the seller's ID and select Other.
In the comment section, write something similar to, "In order to avoid a defect, seller cancelled order stating that <insert reason seller gave here > ."
