Why do sellers get to make up whatever shipping date they want
I I can sellers change the shipping date as soon as you pay for the item like why can it say the item supposed to arrive September 17 but after I buy it it’s changed it will be delivered by September 30 - October 7? This happens often, they lie about the shipping date, delay the shipment for their reasons, and maybe in a month I’ll get the item I paid for.

Sellers do not choose the estimated delivery dates, the eBay system does.
Sellers choose their handling time (within how many business days they will ship the item). They receive a defect if they do not ship within that time. eBay allows handling times from 1-30 days. They choose the shipping method and item location. Using that information and the buyers account location the eBay system gives an estimate of when the item might be delivered. Those dates are simply a guess based on past data.
Once the buyer pays, provides the ship to address, and the seller purchases the shipping label the system has more accurate information and updates the delivery estimate.
It is important for buyers to check the item location and the sellers feedback to see if there are complaints about slow shipping or that items are coming from overseas but are listed as shipping from the US.

OP10 months agoYet, shipping dates change, after items is paid for. It will say shipping soon, then two weeks later still hasn’t shipped. Then, the seller decides to ship it, while I wait either 40 days for delivery.
