Why did I receive a 1099K when I didn't meet the thresholds?

Question

In previous years, if I didn't meet the 1099K thresholds for eBay sales and number of transactions, I just got a message saying "You didn't receive a Form 1099-K because your gross amount of payments didn't meet the IRS or state reporting thresholds."

What has changed?

I just checked, and yes, I live in a state where I do meet the threshold. Thank you, that certainly seems to answer my question. -- Barb

Where are you located? Some states require a 1099-K for less than the Federal threshold.

Here are some state-level thresholds for Form 1099-K:

Maryland: $600
Massachusetts: $600
District of Columbia: $600
New Jersey: $1,000
Missouri $1200

THere are a few others, check with your state. You need to claim your income for selling on eBay. Check with a tax professional.
