why dfoes ebay penalize you for trying to work with a seller to make things right?
I bought a watch band from a jeweler in Germany. They sent the wrong band. I tried to work with them to fix things, and by the time I got fed up and asked for a refund it was too late. The buyer promised to make things right, and I have been going back anbd forth with them for a while now. I am at my wits' end, and wanted to write some feedback. But it has been more than 60 days since I received the wrong thing, so I can no longer write any feedback... Am I wrong in thinking that from now on I should not even try to work things out...just demand a refund immediately, and write a negative review?
This the second time I was ripped off (oddly enough, also from a German seller), and Ebay has been useless at helping. The last time I stopped using eBay for a couple of years, Now I think this may be it...
Am I missingt something here?

Mentor4 months agoYou are missing the fact that Ebay's Money Back Guarantee is valid for 30 days.
Never "try to work things out" beyond the time frame Ebay provides for utilizing the Money Back Guarantee.
Your situation is not Ebay's fault.

eBay is not penalizing you for working with the seller; eBay is not penalizing you at all.
If you wait too long to ask eBay for help for any reason, eBay cannot help you once the deadline for help has passed.
Buyers have thirty days from receiving an item to start a "not as described" return and ask for a refund. Buyers have sixty days from receiving an item to leave feedback.
You may still have recourse through your payment method, though it is usually better to go through eBay's money back guarantee first, if possible. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection from the date of purchase, though you may have to pay for return shipping yourself if you go that route.
