Why can't I sell to a buyer in Switzerland
Summary: mark333414 is experiencing difficulties selling an antique sewing machine to a buyer in Switzerland. Although eBay's international shipping is enabled and no countries are excluded, the buyer cannot use the 'buy it now' option. mr_lincoln suggests checking the item weight and possible excluded countries, even though mark333414 has verified these settings and found no issues.
I have an antique sewing machine that a buyer in switzerland wants to buy. He was able to bid on the item and win but I canceled the order and relisted it as a buy now item because apparently eBay's international shipping doesn't apply to auctions. But now he says eBay won't let him "buy it now". I have checked all the settings that the eBay chat told me to and everything looks good on my end. I have EIS enabled, no countries are excluded, the item is not restricted in Switzerland, and it meets all the selling requirements. Why can't he buy my item?

If it weighs over 44 lbs it does not qualify for EIS ...
By the way, you DO have some countries excluded on your account but not Sweden for that item.

OP1 week ago · EditedThe item is not over 44 lbs. It's less than 10 lbs but I have it listed as 10.8 lbs to compensate for shipping materials. Which countries are excluded? I have checked both the specific listing's settings and my shipping preferences and I don't see there are any countries excluded.
*I may have accidentally opted in to "business policies" when I was trying to figure out a way to change settings to allow him to buy. That may have messed with my excluded shipping countries but I now have opted out. But all of that was done AFTER he wasn't able to buy from me so I don't think that was the problem.

Click the "Details" link to the right of the shipping price on the listing ... a pop-up will open and show a list of both included and excluded country locations.

OP1 week agoOh, I see. I'm guessing that is automatically applied through eBay because there's something about those countries that won't let me sell the item there through EIS.
