Why can't I search men's clothing by size?
I can choose size type, but not actual size. If I add "medium" to the search bar I still get items that are xl, xxl, s etc etc in the results. It makes shopping overly time constraints and quite irritating.

App or browser? Desktop or mobile?
What category are you searching?
Report the error to eBay and search by keyword as a workaround in the affected category if you are unable to change to a different format that works better.
