why are my views so low? is it my pictures? i didn't take pic with 50mp resolution
my views are extremely low. i am selling used auto parts. is it because I am a new seller? i would think with the amount of impressions i have that I would have a little more views. I don't think my pictures are bad but maybe they actually are and I need to take photos with 50mp resolution setting and in better lighting with a perfectly white background?

Remove all the pictures with your fingers in them, replace them with finger-free pics.
eBay motors can be heavily saturated in some of those categories plus you only have 11 items for sale.

OP8 months agoso having just 11 items for sale makes my listing not show up higher on the search results? or are you saying that having 11 items for sale makes it harder to get more views simply because I have less items total?
I did a quick search for the sonata mirror that I did sell and it seems some have sold for more but they were bigger sellers with many more items and more reviews. This got me thinking does the ebay algorithm boost listings and make them more visible for sellers with lots of items for sale or lots of reviews? it would make sense as they are more trusted sellers and ebay would rather let them continue to sell them me who only sold 1 thing.
they don't want to lose their big sellers just to satisfy a guy selling 1 mirror for example. that's my thought process and I am not complaining if that's the case. I totally understand it.

There could be several reasons why your views are low. One is that you are a low feedback seller, so you haven't developed a reputation yet. Another is that depending on the search "sort" people are using, they may see your listings because you have a lower search visibility, than higher volume sellers if Best Match is used.
You have several interior items listed for 10+ year old cars, which may not be things that are replaced often, so those listings may languish for a long time before someone is searching for them. Exterior parts for older vehicles are more desirable. Though the shipping cost for the rear door you and other sellers have listed while withing the average cost range for that size item, will probably end up being a local pickup sale because of its size and weight.
Some of your listing titles are lacking vital info. Manufacture names should be given. Colors mentioned even though the photos show it. People do search by Mfr. name and color which are key words in ebay's searches. In the Item specifics or your seller description of interior parts it might be wise to enter the Mfr's. Interior trim level number from the VIN, usually the 4th-8th numbers in a VIN.
FYI. Your photos are fine, though using a medium gray back ground/drop. is the best color for photography in many cases. Most photography is based on Medium gray for color balance. Using a white back ground for a darker color can cause it to look even darker than it is hiding details. While a white item photographed on a black background can skew the exposure so that some details do not show up.

OP8 months agoThanks for all these great tips. I guess it was you that gave me those 4 views this morning LOL! I got super excited and couldn't believe it. I was like maybe it's Saturday morning thing or something. Then I realized that I made this post and you must of clicked on those 4 items. haha
I did search for some of the items I'm selling and some have like 1000+ listings with less than 100 sold. So that tells me that it's most likely going to sit for a while. Does ebay prioritize search results based on seller's total sales or something? I don't blame them if they do I'm just curious. It's good to know because then I will start seeking items that have much less sellers and a much better STR%. If I were Ebay and I had 10,000 listings of an item I'm going to want the sellers with the best feedback and highest sold to be at the top of the list because I want the customers to be satisfied. So I do get it...Just not sure if that's how it works or not. Also I would want to keep these sellers selling on my platform if they have so much to sell.
For example if I have a seller that has sold 10,000+ parts on ebay motors vs someone who hasn't sold 1 part why would I want to put the seller who hasn't sold 1 part above the search results for the one who has sold 10,000+? I don't want to slow down or lose this ebay seller to a guy who might just be selling a mirror off of his car because he is parting out his own car before junking it. Would you agree that this is how it works? it would only make sense for Ebay to do this. While it's frustrating I do get it and totally understand it. Just makes me realize I need to really search for parts that have a better STR% (active listings to sold listings ratio)
Followup question related to active listings a seller has. I only have 11 or 12 active listings. I heard the more active listings you have the more views you will get. Now I'm curious if this is just a numbers game and simply means that the more active listings you have the greater chance of getting views is. OR, if the more active listings you have Ebay rewards you because you have more to offer and are a more serious seller and maybe the algorithm puts more of your listings at the top.
