why are my sold listings still appearing on my active items list
when i go to relist the item it will not allow me to because it says the item is a duplicate?

Sounds like you have the out of stock option turned on. This setting is used by sellers who replenish their items to keep a listing active until their next order arrives so that all they have to do is add units to the listing and it will again appear in search.
If you don't replenish your stock, you can turn it off here:
