Why am I being charged for a shipping label when the buyer already paid for shipping?
I got charged almost $6 for printing a label and the buyer has already paid for shipping. I’ve read all over the shipping info and FAQs but I’m not seeing anything about them charging you when the buyer has already paid. FYI I’m shipping a pair of pants that weighs a few ounces. I’ve tried to reach out to Ebay, but only receive automated responses.

Mentor10 months agoFollow the Money in these steps, in this order:
FIRST
1. Your buyer pays $6.00 for shipping, when your buyer paid to eBay the total amount of the purchase. The total amount of the purchase includes the price of the pants you sold, plus probably some sales tax, plus those six dollars as, kind of, a pre-payment of the postage cost.
NEXT
2. eBay makes those same $6.00 available to you (Seller) specifically so that you can buy the postage through eBay and print the label.
NEXT
3. The seller (you) pays USPS (or UPS or FedEx) the price of the postage to/through eBay; the label you print is, in a manner of speaking, the receipt for your purchase of postage/shipping cost, in addition, of course, to the delivery address for that purchase.
I'm sure that, if you take a few quiet minutes to think through the process, it will all make perfect sense.

The buyer pays you the shipping and you use that to purchase the label. The buyer nor eBay purchases the shipping label.
The buyer's payment to eBay includes the item, the shipping you set on your listing, and any tax they owe. eBay takes their selling fees out and sends you the balance.
