Where is the "ask ebay to step in" button to get a seller to refund me?

Hi,

I bought a faulty kettle and the seller agreed to refund me and agreed they had received the returned kettle. But they never refunded me. They are not responding to my requests and so I want to ask ebay to step in for me, according to ebay's pages on this. But I can't find the link to do this! Nor a way through customer services.

How else can I contact ebay please?

If your case/return request is still open, you can have Ebay step in to help you.

Find the item in your Purchases.
Select See return details
Select Ask eBay to step in and help.
Select a reason from the dropdown menu, then select Confirm.

Hi Lady Madonna,

Thanks so much for your quick response. I did follow these points but the "see return details" one isn't there under the item listing. The return of the kettle was confirmed by the seller. This is a long running dispute with a seller who did promise to refund but never has and now ignores my requests. I think this means I am out of time but I still want to chase this. Thanks again.

If there is no "see return details" underneath the title of the item that could possibly mean that you did not file a Return Request on Ebay.

Ah - I didn't know I had to. I contacted the seller via the ebay emailing system so didn't go outside this as I know the importance of keeping things on the record should anything go wrong. I've never had to return an item before over the years, so "live and learn" but at a cost it would seem. But I would still like to alert Ebay this seller is rogue but there doesn't seem to be a pathway to do this.

Unfortunately, Ebay won't be able to do anything unless you filed the Return Request through their website.

You can file a dispute through Paypal if you used Paypal or contact your payment source. Provide any information you have regarding the returned shipping and proof the seller received the returned item.
