Where can I find proof that an eBay return label was system-generated (not uploaded by seller)?
Hi everyone,
I’m dealing with a return case where I need to confirm that the return shipping label was generated/purchased through eBay (not directly by me from UPS).
The label was created via the eBay return process, but I’m having trouble getting written confirmation from customer support. Different agents are giving inconsistent answers, and I’m trying to find a reliable way to document this.
My questions:
-Is there any way to view or download proof that a return label was purchased/generated through eBay?
-Does this information show anywhere in Seller Hub, Payments, or transaction details?
-Has anyone successfully obtained written confirmation from eBay about label origin, and if so, how?
For context, the tracking shows “Unpaid postage, item will not be delivered,” so I’m trying to clarify the label source for documentation purposes.
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Mentor4 months ago@stchby0706 If it was a UPS label and the buyer dropped it off at a USPS post office they will confiscate the item.
The only information you will have about the label is the tracking information in the case>

If the tracking information is in the case and you do not manually add it then it's an eBay generated label.
You can tell which shipping company it was for by the tracking number
