If you do not see the option to add it to a custom list on the item listing, add the item to your Watch List. Then on your Watch List page you can move it to the custom list.

Beware, though: if you delete the item from your Watch List, that will also delete it from all your custom lists as well.

I need the drop down for my folders so i can watch different kind of items in different folders.

It is a big hassel to move them.

I guess if ebay can't leave things alone i will just go to amazon.

Are you referring to your Watch List or your custom lists? Custom lists can be reached from your Watch List page using a desktop browser by clicking on the large "My eBay -- Watchlist" heading.
