When was an item listed for sale?
In looking at items for sale that are similar or the same as items I want to sell, its would be helpful to know when someone listed their item. Is this date shown somewhere in the listing?

In eBay Seller Hub, if you use the Research >> Product research tool, the results show Start date for listings:
You can find the Research dropdown at the top menu in Seller Hub.

No the starting date for a listing is not shown unless it is for an auction. Buy it now listings will automatically relist after 30 days, so the items still for sale could have been listed months ago.
If what you are trying to find out is what the item has sold for in the recent past do the following.
At the top of your My ebay page look to the right of the main Search button for Advanced, and click on it. On the page that opens enter your item's title model number, Mfr. name. select the appropriate category for the item, and below that check the sold listings box, Then search.
On the page that opens just above the first listing on the right is a Sort: v button, click on it and select Ended Recently, so that you see the most recent sales first. To the left are options for All, Buy It Now and Auctions. the default search is for All listings.
You should open a few of the listings with the higher prices to compare it to your item to see If that was a new or used one? If used, Did it have all of its parts and accessories, original box etc.
