When is it ok not to pay as a buyer?
I bid on an item from a new seller with a -1 feedback rating. Seller ghosted the lone buyer and never sent the purchased item leading to a refund by EBay. Unfortunately when I bid I did not check rating/feedback. I sent the seller a message to ask for confirmation that this is not a scam and asked if the item will be sent if I pay. Sadly nothing from the seller. I then asked the sale to be cancelled. Nothing so far. I have not paid, fearing to pay a scammer and have 400$+ tied up for weeks. Do I have any options here other than paying? Will refusing to pay a potential scammer cause me to lose my ability to buy on eBay? Thanks.
