when glass is broken
I got my first broken shipment. My question is two-fold. I shipped USPS ground advantage. So the item should be covered. Do I need to pay for it to be shipped back to me to make a claim? 2nd question, I've examing the sellers pictures carefully and I am not sure he is showing me the same item I sent. Should I get ebay involved?

Mentor1 year agoDo not have the buyer ship the item back to you. If you do, the insurance claim will be denied.
Have the buyer send you photos of the damaged item, the outer box, the shipping label, any packing materials and tell the buyer to keep that aside in case the carrier wants to inspect it all. Refund the buyer in full. Go to the sold transaction, click the Order Details, and save that to a PDF. Then go online to the carrier's web site and file an insurance claim, uploading all of the photos and the PDF showing how much you received for selling that item. If the carrier accepts your claim, they will send you a check.
