whay are my orders auto paid now?
every purchase i make is auto-paid without my consent, this never happened before. I tried adjusting thru Buyer Requirements but it didnt change anything, can someone help? much appreciated!

·2 years agoBuyer Requirements are for SELLERS to control whether buyers have to pre-authorized payments on that seller's listings. They do not have anything to do with your requirements as a BUYER. If a buyer could opt out of the pre-authorization requirement it wouldn't be a requirement, and the scammers and people not intending to pay would simply opt out defeating the purpose of the requirement.
eBay has been "experimenting" with requiring pre-authorization of payment for Best Offers for over a year and a half, adding more and more users into the test group required to do so (sellers can opt their listings out of it; buyers cannot opt out once they are assigned). Too many users were making offers and then not paying when it was accepted, and too many of those were scammers who would try to get the seller to text or email them to get their number/email address to send fake payment messages to.
Not sure whether or not they have officially made it permanent yet or it continues "experimentally." They have recently started trying it out on auction bids.

Mentor2 years agoThe next time you place a bid or make an Offer, take the time to read ebay's message about specifying a payment method in case you are the winner or the seller accepts your Offer. You are giving permission for the auto-pay at that point. ebay is doing this to reduce unpaid transactions.
