What's up, eBay?
I recently called customer service for an issue with logging in. Apparently your system applied 2-factor login though I never activated it, and I was told this is a known issue with your system. I was sent a link to get into my account. I handled everything, but it still wants to use an old phone number and it says there may have been fraud on my account so I can't make an order. Ok, cool. But now your system sends me for a loop when trying to call your customer service? I've been a buyer on here for over a decade on this account and from 2003 or 2004 altogether. Seriously thinking about going to another platform like Mercari for everything, which I'm sure makes you no difference, but it's the principle of the matter. They seem to actually keep their system in working order.

Possibly your account was hijacked (or eBay had reason to believe that it was) and recent changes made to your account were rolled back. That may be why you are seeing an old phone number. Or perhaps you never got around to updating it yourself. Either way, update to your current number and check all your account details to make sure everything else is up to date.
Once you have updated the old number, you should be able to contact customer service and request a call back again.
