What's the community do about a stolen item being sold?
I've located an item being sold that was stolen from my car a little over a month ago. Reported it, at the time, to police. Saw the item recently listed on eBay. I've contacted the police about the listing but, I live in a place where the police are understaffed and it's highly doubtful I will get them to respond in timely manner (i.e. before the item is sold) anyone elise have this kind of experience and what did you end up having to do?

·2 years agoPersonally, I would purchase the items.
This way, you get the items back, and you also get the name, address, and phone number of the seller.
With this in hand, approach your local law enforcement. File the necessary report.
Armed with that report, approach eBay and let them investigate.

Mentor2 years agoeBay will only cooperate with the police on this matter. They will need a police report directly from the police department. There is a special way for the police to contact eBay with the required information. Customer service will not accept your word on this only an official police report.
