What would be E-Bay's policy on selling unopened items, when returns are requested
A sealed item was sold. The buyer opens the item and requests return.
Can seller avoid possibility of return by stating in auction no returns accepted if item opened,
or Item may be returned in original sealed condition?
With some items the fact that the box would be sealed (die cast cars for example) to some buyers increases the value of the item.
With criminal intent a sealed item may be opened and the contents replaced with a damaged/defective item, or the sealed item may really in some way be defective, which was not known until the item was opened.
Once sold a roll of nickels heads/tails a certain year. Buyer said opened roll and 5 of the nickels were of a different year. Cost more in postage than the five nickels were worth to send dissatisfied buyer five nickels of the correct year.

I'm afraid sellers have to accept returns of opened items ... since a buyer usually has no way of inspecting and testing an item without removing it from the box. You would be able to file an Appeal if you receive back a different item than you shipped.
