What to do with suspicious Research activity?
Summary: stillabreeze expressed concern about suspicious activity involving large transaction amounts in sales of specific items, particularly a $118,343.09 transaction on July 4th and a $185k sale related to 'Junk Silver'. krazzykats advised caution, suggesting that unless items are from a large reputable dealer, buying coins online involves risk. stillabreeze sought advice on reporting mechanisms, as eBay AI support provides generic advice but does not clarify reporting steps or contacts. stillabreeze, recognizing a gap in guidance, indicated that the issue might also concern the seller and eBay.
I noticed some, possible questionable activity with one or a few specific items while going through the research of these items.. It wasn't a listing or seller but the possible buyer and quantity that was sold that confused and worried me a little, as most orders aren't in such size..
For reference.. mostly only in July, with a few large sales in June, but most sales were smaller amounts...
Thank you for your assistance and time!

Mentor2 months agoCould use a little more specifics but if its counterfeiting, it's a buyer beware. Unless its from a large reputable dealer I would not buy coins online.

OP2 months agoI cant find any articles on such situation, and when asking the AI support it's saying, "eBay also monitors transactions for suspected fraud or policy violations and may decline, freeze, or hold payments for reasons including suspected fraud or compliance checks.
If you suspect a payment is fraudulent or unusual, you can report it to eBay and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and contact law enforcement if necessary.
Remember, all transactions must be completed on eBay to be covered by eBay's protection programs."
But does not actual give any information on how or where to contact Ebay or others.. but i guess this is also an issue for the seller/ebay?..
