What to do when you inadvertently click "Mark as Paid"?
Happy new Year all! Does anyone know what to do when a buyer requests an invoice for combined shipping but I inadvertently clicked "Mark as Paid" instead of the drop down box for invoice? The item has not been paid for and in the "Create Label" mode. Thanks!

Just circling back to this
1) There used to be an 'unmark as paid' that you could click. That has been gone for some time
2) You can't unmark as paid, and the buyer can no longer pay.
3) I've been unable to cancel the sale that I marked as paid
4) My order is in awaiting shipment, but there is no date, and it does not appear to be a late shipment.
5) I was assessed FVF by eBay when I marked it as shipped.
6) It's not possible to ship since there is no buyer address.
If your buyer wants the item:
- Relist it (sell similar)
- Have the buyer pay for the new item
- Ship
If your buyer doesn't want the item,
- Wait an adequate time
- Relist your item
- Just ignore the order that shows awaiting shipment.

After explaining what happened, ask eBay to refund your FVF, since there was no sale.

Unfortunately no eBay rep or customer service agent to date has ever returned any of my questions or request for contact with this issue. Also, I do not have a Facebook account. The social media customer service people tend to be more up on situations such as this.

Are you using the app or the website?
THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO WORK, however, read below, my test failed and I am contacting customer service myself.
Website
- Go to your orders awaiting shipment
- Click the arrow or ︙ 3 dots to show the drop down list
This is an example - it shows 'Mark as Paid'. if you manually checked that, you will then see the option to 'Mark as not paid'
If the buyer actually paid, there is never an option to 'Mark as not paid'
I marked this one as Paid, and now, *THERE IS NOT a Mark as Not Paid choice*
I scrolled through all the choices
(My buyer didn't pay, I manually marked it as paid)

I will get back to you when I hear about my case. However, the instructions I gave you were correct (normally). There are multiple places to access the drop-down list, I usually give a link that is simple and works for all sellers.
PS - I used the ? at the lower right of Order Details page and reported a technical problem of the missing 'mark as not paid' . I am also going to report on the community technical board and through eBay on Facebook.

eBay on Facebook told me that the option to Unmark as Paid hasn't been available for some time. They could see that I marked as paid, they were unable to unmark it for me. Customer Service confirmed that the buyer no longer would have the option to pay!
I don't understand why this option was removed.
Customer service made it right with me, and I am shipping my item to the buyer who didn't pay.
I suggest you contact customer service this way

Mentor7 months agoIt led you to an eBay site, because this is eBay. You are asking the question in the community, not the actual site where you purchase and sell items. If a link was provided to you by a mentor here, it is safe. @prostar190mc

OP7 months agoYes, I am aware that it takes me to the eBay site, but the item is in “Get Shipping Labelâ€. I’ve looked everywhere to click Not Paid but just not seeing it. Thanks anyways.

You should mark the item as Not Paid from the drop-down list to the right, here:

OP7 months agoThanks but sorry, no offense, I’m not going to click that link. When entered link off thread, it only led me to eBay site. Can you or someone please provide more specific directions? The ebay Help & Contact does not provide any fix.
