What should he do?
Yes my ex bought a pair of boots on Ebay and after a week of working in them he started complaining about foot pain. I had no idea how bad it was. He is a maintenance guy for a big apartment complex, so he is always on his feet. I just assumed it was normal everyday kind of foot pain. That is until the 5th day when he was in so much pain that he couldn't even stand up. That was when I had gotten to get a good look at his feet. I noticed that they were both swollen at least 3x their normal size. And there were open wounds on his toes. Over the next 3 days, the pain got worse and the open wounds got bigger until he couldn't stand the pain anymore. When I had finally talked him into going to the hospital, the infection was so bad that I thought he would lose his toes. They did cultures of the wounds, which came back as heavy growth Streptococcus pyogenes, and heavy growth Staphylococcus aureus, and heavy growth Corynebacterium amycolatum. I am sure that the boots that he had bought were contaminated when he bought them and was curious what could be done? He could have lost his toes on both feet! The hospital bill alone was over $11,000.
