Why are there no seller protections?
If i ship item out to someone valued at 200, then they claim it wasn't as listed and return a $20 trinket-

Honestly and morality, which is what guides most people. Some people will find ways to steal, trick, scam, game the system, etc. because they have no morals.
There are no guarantees that you won't encounter a dishonest buyer on eBay or anywhere else in life. That's why it's a good idea not to list items you can't afford to lose in the off-chance that things go very wrong.
