What kind of shipping time is acceptable?
All,
Need some help with a purchase I made exactly 3 weeks ago. The purchase was shipped the next day (from Ohio, shipping to Texas). After two weeks, I start looking for the item. After tracking, it seems that the USPS seems to have gone awry.
Jan 6 - Arrives in Texas at distribution center
Jan 7 - In transit arriving late
Jan 8 - In transit arriving late
Jan 9 - Arrived in Ohio regional distribution center
Jan 10 - In transit arriving late
Jan 11 - In transit arriving late
Jan 12 - In transit arriving late
Jan 13 - In transit arriving late
Jan 16 - Tracking research case closed - Texas
On 1/14, I sent a message to the seller asking him to open an inquiry with the post office. He refused and sent me tracking info claiming it's still on its way.
On 1/16, I opened an inquiry and the local post office called me back and told me that the package wasn't in Texas anymore and that the seller should open a case in Ohio to look for the package and that they could not help.
So, at three weeks after order, I tell Ebay that I have not received my package and asked them to take action. Today, I get a notice back that the case has been put on hold for 10 days. After three weeks, I should have received it by now. The package has not been seen or tracked for 8 days. I am seriously going to have to wait for another 10 days to start the process of getting another? I cannot even get help from Ebay because it takes me back to the "case on hold" page each time I try to contact someone.
With all due respect Ebay, your policy stinks. If I wanted to wait a month for resolution, I'd buy it elsewhere. Why is it on hold for another 10 days? Isn't that why we have Ebay step-in to make a refund possible at 3 weeks? What is the policy on how long one has to wait? This is excessive!

I'm sorry that happened.
You can open an Item Not Received case as early as 1 day after the original expected delivery, which was probably 2 weeks ago. I wish you would have opened it then.
eBay will give a seller another 10 days *if* there is evidence that the item is moving in the system.
The seller *should* be more helpful here. The seller could file an missing mail or insurance claim here.
