What is wrong with the website?
I need to return an item but no matter what I try the website always says the same thing. "Something went wrong, please try again later"

Are you starting from your Purchase History, finding the transaction and using the return option there? When was the item received? Are you still within thirty days?
If you made a guest purchase, you must sign out of your current eBay account to use the link in the email, or else open that link in a private or incognito browser window.
If you purchased using a different eBay account, sign in to that account and find the transaction in your Purchase History to go from there.

OP1 month agoYes I went to purchase history found the item and clicked on return. Does not work even though it says the return window is open. Also get the exact same message when I try the eBay ai chat.

Mentor1 month agoTry another browser to rule out a browser issue.
Try another device to rule out a device issue.
See if you can start the return using the eBay app on your phone, for instance.

Mentor1 month agoTo contact eBay, skip the chat assistant and go to eBay's Instagram page and send a direct message.
