What is the best course of action if the seller sent something else?

So I won an auction but the seller does not have very high ratings and is fairly new. That said it was a good deal but obviously it was too good to be true. I paid over 400 for the item and received something without value. I cannot open a case with ebay it seems, since it has just arrived and I need to wait 7 days it looks like. What is the best course to get this taken care of immediately or do I first need to wait the 7 days?

I believe you can file a Returns Request as soon as you receive the item. I believe the reference to 7 days is the time in order to leave feedback, as sellers who are top rated are given 7 days in which to communicate with buyers if there are any problems.

The easiest way is to go to your Purchase history, locate the item. You have 30 days from date of receipt. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. You will need to click on MORE to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. You print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
