What is it with everyone making a fortune on the shipping?! I KNOW it doesn't cost that much!!
We have our own business and y'all are down right stripping people on the shipping! I would love to order several things but not that way!

OP8 months agoJust saying be on the lookout! A bunch of people ARE charging too much for shipping. I did not call anyone out. I'm just warning people to watch out for themselves. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Especially the elderly!

And that's fine, but no one should be buying anything without looking at the item and shipping costs before committing to buy...no matter how ole they are. The goes for buying on eBay's site and any other.

I understand how you feel about the prices. It's concerning to sellers as well as buyers. Shipping costs are sky high, and will be going up even more soon.
USPS raised prices twice last year in addition to the temporary holiday price increase at the end of the year. The prices go up again in two days on 1/18 so if you want to buy something, doing so today or tomorrow would be a good idea. Or you can buy items with "free" shipping, pretending their is no shipping cost (when in fact the shipping cost is embedded in the item price).

OP8 months agoI realize they are high. We run a business! But we are not ripping people off with shipping! I know what it cost's to send FedEX, UPS and USPS! I refuse to buy from a business that is charging triple what we would charge for the same weight and distance-including any insurance. I'm just saying guys to watchout for the scam on shipping!

Not everything is a scam.
As a buyer, if you see two identical sellers selling the same item for the same price, and one seller charges more for shipping, how hard is it to pick the one with the lower shipping price, all other things being equal?
Most buyers already understand that the total price -- including tax and shipping -- is what matters, not just the item price by itself, once you have limited your choices to qualified sellers.
There is no rule that says sellers can only charge a certain amount for shipping or that only actual carrier charges are valid shipping amounts.
Some sellers roll the average shipping cost into the item price and then offer free shipping; other sellers will include a "worst case" shipping amount to ensure the seller does not lose money on shipping no matter where the buyer is located. Some sellers charge flat shipping; some use calculated shipping. Some sellers use calculated shipping but pass on a discount to the buyer; some use calculated shipping but tack on additional charges for materials and handling. Some sellers cite a lower than average price for the item but cite a higher than average price for shipping.
Some buyers in certain jurisdictions may even prefer a low cost item with high shipping charges, as some buyers do not pay sales tax on shipping, and that can be a better deal than a higher priced item with free shipping when taxes are taken into account.

Shipping a 4 lb package via Priority Mail across the US costs about 2 1/5 times what it costs to ship within the seller's own state. For a 1/2 ounce package, the cost is double. That's not a scam, it's reality.
That being said, sellers set their pricing, so there is no scam. If I don't like the pricing for whatever reason, I move on to another seller.
