What is a "Policy Violation" on ebay ?

Question

Am I right to supose that it is anything outside of their policy rules. Also, is a policy violation punishable to the seller ? Thanks.

A policy violation means the member is breaking the rules.

Think of it this way....someone who runs a red light, drives without a license, drives while intoxicated over the legal limit, flees the scene of a accident, etc. is violating traffic laws. They could receive a warning, a ticket, a license suspension, jail time, etc.

When a member (buyer or seller) violates policy, eBay will handle it in various ways depending on what policy was violated and/or how many times the member is breaking rules. eBay's action could be anything from a warning to a restriction to having their account closed, etc. eBay doesn't share with other members what action they take.

@57sparkette eBay has MANY rules . It looks like you are just a buyer at this point. Was an item that you purchased removed due to a policy violation?
