what if you have an abusive nternational buyer
I have a difficult buyer who complained about I item that I sold in 'good' condition. I wasn't sure how the item arrived an they provided no photos of the item. I asked what they wanted to do to resolve the issue. No response then a week later left me negative feedback. I refunded the buyer from my own pocket and then started receiving untraceable text messages to pay $500 to remove the feedback. How is this allowed under the streamlined feedback removal tool?

Mentor2 years ago@ronniesrarities You should have told the buyer to open a refund request, eBay is supposed to refund the buyer for ALL refund requests for items after they leave the US EIS forwarding center.
I recommend you contact customer service. For this issue the best option would be eBay for Business on FB. The agents are more experienced.
Leave a PRIVATE message and an agent will get back to you>

OR if you don't use FB you can request a call back>
We can help with most buying and selling questions and save you time, we are experienced eBay Mentors who know eBay's policies and procedures. If you ask us your question we'd be happy to help you.

Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.
1. CLICK THIS LINK:
https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
2. Request a call back or live chat
( If you receive the automated chat assistant type AGENT in the small box on the lower right of the linked page then you will see the options to contact a live agent, you may have to answer the chat bots questions before it allows you to connect to an agent, this is so you are connected to the right department)

OP2 years agoFirst off I already asked for them to move forward to return but their decision was clear that they didn't want to return but just abuse until their point was clear. I asked for photos of the box and item but received nothing. I could see the damages in the photos and they weren't really that bad.
I tried to speaking to ebay representatives chat but they push for the auto feedback removal tool or ask the buyer to revise the feedback. Both failed and they are unwilling to revise the decision.

We are fellow experienced members and can only offer advice. If they are messaging you via SMS of course ignore them. Don't "feed" the beast by giving them attention.
I think what caused the problems that you're having with the negative feedback is because you choose to refund the buyer instead of just having them file the return request. All you should have said to the buyer was " sorry there is a problem with your item, please file a return request" Then left them alone.
With EIS when eBay handles the return refund request then THEY refund the buyer and the buyer can't leave negative feedback,
You said you tried chat to get the feedback removed via chat did you try FB for Business?
Be sure to copy the text from the eBay policy page and ask CS why they are not following policy>
