What has happened to ebay's search engine
What is going on. Very few of my active listings are appearing when I search for them. They have been active for years.

I can see 219 items you currently have listed.
Can you provide an example item number of one that you cannot find, and a description of how you are searching?

OP3 weeks agoI am searching from the ebay home page and also having a friend search in a different city using a different browser from the ebay home page.

Mentor3 weeks agoAnother result on IBM SELECTRIC TYPEWRITER PART - MOTOR BUSHINGS - pack of 2
Your listing is showing in the search results. If you search using only one or two words, though, you can end up with hundreds or even thousands of results to go through.

and 1 "Selectric motor bushing"

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedIf you mean your "IBM SELECTRIC TYPEWRITER PART - MOTOR BUSHINGS - pack of 2" (note the plural bushings in the title), that item is listed in the Topographical Postcard category, which may make it hard to find in a default search.
You also have a "Pointer for IBM Selectric 2 - New" listed under "Collectibles: Tools, Hardware & Locks" rather than in a typewriter category.

OP3 weeks agoebay had better allow for much longer titles if I will need to put in singular and plural versions of words as listing titles. The system can't distinguish between the two? I also tried calling support and it was not able to dial my number when my turn came up, but said I didn't answer!

Mentor3 weeks agoTypically a search for one will find the other, but if a buyer is searching for an exact keyword (in quotes) or using exclusion terms, then your listing may not match the search. The issue in your case is likely the category rather than the plural in the title.
If you use a plural in the title, be sure that the singular appears somewhere in the item-specifics just to cover all your bases.
