What has changed on Ebay that has led to my declining sales?
I've been selling on Ebay for 25 years. From 2000-2023, I did very well. In 2024 my sales started to decline. I was selling the same type of product in the same way as I always had, had the same seller rating, everything was the same. The only difference I could detect was that shipping costs had increased and since I charge shipping based on zip code to customers, I thought the increased shipping costs might be deterring sales. However, even sales to locations very close to my location (which still did not cost much to ship to) had dropped off.
I thought maybe there was increased competition or my products (used ski equipment) were outdated and that was the reason for the decline in sales. But even unique items (without much competition) that were relatively newer (not outdated) were not selling well.
In 2025 my sales have dropped even more even though everything is the same yet again. I even started selling new products for very reduced cost compared to the exact same products that are selling on Amazon, at REI, etc. and those are not selling. I cannot figure out why customers have stopped buying from me. Anyone have any suggestions?
