what do i do when the seller hasnt accepted the payment and does not respond to messages?

I purchased an item using "buy it now". I paid with paypal. My credit card shows the amount "pending" for the correct amount. This has been 3 days. The item doesnt show up as a purchase on my ebay because, technically it is not yet purchased. The ebay chatbot is useless. Any suggestions appreciated

Did you go to PayPal and send the money to the seller?

If so, go CANCEL that payment now.

To pay on eBay, you use eBay's checkout and you don't go to PayPal. You can pay using paypal, but you pay eBay, and eBay pays the seller.

Thank you for your response. This entire thing is weird, and I suspect is an attempt at phishing that doesnt seem to be working.

I did use ebay checkout, and the payment that shows as pending on my credit card shows ebay as the payee. My credit card wont let me cancel a pending payment and there has been no action on it in 3-4 days. The payment process was weird - i thought i had paid, but i got a red banner going across the screen saying that i had not completed payment but there were no click-able buttons. On the day I tried to buy, i received an email from ebay (verified as sender) with a subject line that says "Juki TL-2010Q High... is still at checkout, dont forget to purchase.

Today, when I clicked on the item in that email, ebay couldnt find it. And today there are however two other sellers on ebay selling the exact same item at the exact same price - descriptions and photos match exactly; locations are different. Neither has any history or review, and they are both new to ebay as of March 2026. And, i am pretty sure they are not the seller I was trying to buy from, as I had messaged that seller 2 days before tyring to purchase, and s/he had never responded, but when I clicked on the message seller button, my message was there. When i click on the message seller button for the products no listed, my message is not there.

The price on the item, can be described as 'too good to be true' - $399 for a sewing machine that lists at about $2,000.
