What can I do if eBay sided with seller about item not delivered?

Let me give you the context. So, I ordered an item from a seller that had the best price AND good reviews. He shipped it through UPS and provided a tracking number. It was supposed to arrive on Aug. 15. Well, it didn't arrive. I contacted seller, and he replied days later but only when I asked eBay to step in. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have replied. Anyway, I also contacted UPS myself, and it turns out they handed it over to USPS for final delivery. They gave me another tracking number, and I contacted USPS. They're saying they won't deliver my package because postage hadn't been paid.
I told the seller about this, but he insists that it's on its way, and that I should wait one more week. I opened a case, and eBay sided with seller because he provided a tracking number but mind you, he provided UPS's tracking info, not USPS's. They put the case on hold and want me to wait ten more days. At this point, I just want a refund. I've ordered lots of items on eBay and never did I encounter a situation like this. Should I just dispute the charge with my bank?

Mentor3 weeks agoThe seller shipped using a special UPS service where UPS hands off the package to the USPS for final delivery. The seller only knows about the UPS tracking number. This service tends to have a problem when the package is handed off to the USPS. USPS does not see that UPS has sent them the funds for the delivery. This becomes very complicated as UPS and USPS will blame each other for the problem. Since the tracking number the seller has shows that the package was handed off for delivery eBay will ask you to wait to sese if the package is delivered.
If you go to your credit card now eBay will no longer have anything to do with the purchase and any decision will be final by your credit card company. There is a good chance your credit card company may not rule in your favor.

OP3 weeks agoHm, that's new to me. I'd never heard of this UPS-USPS thing. It sucks bigtime. Whenever I've ordered something, it's always the same carrier that manages the whole shipping/delivery.
In my case, UPS argues they no longer have the package, while USPS tells me to contact seller/eBay for help. I guess I'll have to wait and depending on the outcome, dispute the charge with my bank. Thanks for your response.
