What actions can i take to expedite the refund of a fraudulant purchase
I purchased a full size metal futon frame for 100.70 the seller has never responded to any of my messages and after the tracking number provided showed it was delivered to the wrong address I started a report. Then I find out that the seller not only sent to wrong address the item I was sent only weighed 4 Oz but the item I purchased weighs over 48 pounds. Ebay is forcing me to wait over a week in order for them to step in and refund this purchase which clearly is a fraufdulant sale by a scam seller! What can I do to expedite this further! I have all documentation to show this was not a legit sale and this seller has not provided a legal address as well! Why is ebay allowing these scammers to continue to steal from their customers and why donwe have to wait so long for any help on their end when I have a mou tain of proof this sale was not legit!

You say you started a report.
Can you explain in detail what kind of a report you started?

OP11 months agoI meant a request, but after reading many replies by community on other buyers who have experienced the same buying scams I closed the request filed and skipped all the crap with dealing with ebay and the scam seller and initiated a charge back with my bank. I have a mountain of proof that the merchant was fraudulant and the sale was a scam between the written verification that the tracking number provided showed the incorrect address to be delivered to, to the weight of the shipped item the tracking number provided only weighed 4 oz..when the item I beloved I purchased weighed over 48 pounds. The sellers provided address listed on ebay wasn't even a valid address therefore a claim wasn't able to be initiated thru the shipper for non delivery, I just filed for a charge back today and my bank took all my provided written documents of proof and assured me I would be refunded within 5 business days..I'm done buying off of ebay am closing my account and deleting the app off all my devices. Good luck to everyone else who takes the gamble to shop on ebay it's just not worth the headache.

Just thought you’d like to know that I’ve experienced the ‘Fake tracking number scam’ about 5 times so far … on Amazon, eBay, Home Depot, and Walmart. Leaving eBay won’t stop the scam or headaches, as it’s a part of buying online … but the very best of luck to you!

If you simply cannot wait for eBay’s claim to proceed … you can contact the Fraud Department of your credit card company, provide the mountain of proof you have, and request a chargeback. That will end eBay’s involvement with the case … but will get you a faster refund.
If you are able to wait for eBay’s claim process to run its course … you will be helping eBay to better understand the increasingly more common ‘Fake tracking number scam’.
