Water Filter "Compatible Model" issue
How do I get around Whirlpool blocking me from selling my 3 Water Filters? They are my
original filters (not counterfeit etc) that I had to replace when I bought a new refrigerator. There
are plenty of the same water filters for sale on eBay. How did they get around the policy?

OP2 years agoYES, the "sell similar" worked. It looks as if the word "Whirlpool" is not mentioned, instead there are the
words "Unbranded" used. I think that's what got me in. haha! Thank you soooooo much!

Mentor2 years agoDon't see where there should be a problem with that model. Ebay is now using AI and it appears its IQ isn't much above a tree log. Try the sell similar and see if that works.

Mentor2 years agoDo not relist until the matter is resolved.
Did you get a VeRO notice? If so, you can not relist until the VeRO member lifts the complaint.
If they are not the Whirlpool brand, but are compatibles, you must be very careful how you list them. The title must clearly indicate they are compatibles and along with the photos and description can not be in anyway confused with the actual brand name item or otherwise infringe on the brand name or logo.
Best for only these three items to just list them elsewhere and avoid any further problems.

OP2 years agoThey are Whirlpool filters. This is not a "relist" problem because I can't get past the "compatible" issue as it is blocking my listing with a message in red at the top. I don't know what a VeRO notice is, but as I said I can't list them.

Mentor2 years agoIf these are legit Whirlpool filters and you never listed them in the first place for them to be taken down, then something else is going on.
What is the exact message in red?
Exactly when does it occur?
What category are you trying to list them in?
Did you try using the sell similar (or have one to sell) option from an existing listing?
Are you sure the model isn't on a recall list?

But the products and these models are listed all over eBay. How do I use the "sell similar" option? Thank your for your replies!

Mentor2 years agoWell something in your listing is triggering the bots to think it is a counterfeit item, or because ebay messages are often misleading there is some other problem, like a recalled item, which can't be listed. Find another listing and make sure it is for the exact same brand name item. Under the picture on the left click on Sell Now.
What is the Whirlpool part number?
