Watchlist: Can I stop the new “Shop Similar†banner on Ended items?
The watchlist is now displaying a “Shop similar†banner after each item in the “Ended†portion of the Watchlist. Very unnecessary and annoying!! Takes up way too much space. Is there a way to change a setting to stop this display?

Mentor1 year agoYou can use an ad blocker to block those rows from appearing on your Watch List.
Try adding the following line to your custom rules:

OP1 year agoHi!
I would like to try that but I don’t know how to find my “custom rulesâ€. I went to My Account settings but didn’t find anything that I thought applicable there. I assume that I am missing something.
Could you please provide explicit instructions on where and how? I have been on this site for quite a while and things don’t seem as simple as they once did.
Many thanks.

Mentor1 year agoYou need to have an ad blocking add-on installed in your desktop browser that supports it. Ad Block, Ad Block Plus and uBlock Origin are popular ad blockers that work with most browsers, but there are others. There should be a section of the ad blocker's settings that allows for custom rules to be used. Details vary depending on which ad blocker you are using, but they all use similar coding.

OP1 year agoAh! I do most of my eBay viewing on my iPad. I was hoping that there were setting options within one’s eBay account that would allow those ad banners from eBay to not display. I do not understand how eBay developers think that this new feature is welcome or useful. It is a major impediment.
Thank you for your efforts to help me.

I am not sure about ad block options for iPad or whether you can use custom blocking rules. If you use Safari, I think your options are limited, but possibly other browsers may work.
If you are using iOS 16 or later, you might try using the eBay app; I believe that the "shop similar" feature does not appear in the app when viewing the ended section of the Watch List -- at least that appears to be the case for me using an Android phone.
