WAS SCAMMED ON WHAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A BRAND NEW FORD ENGINE

Hello, I was scammed on a brand new ford 3.5 engine for $2800. I had the motor installed 8 months after purchase, I drove the suv 322 miles with no issues then all hell broke loose! I was told by my mechanic that coolant was mixing with fuel in cylinders 1 and 2. They told me they would have to take the entire engine apart to locate the issue and it would be cheaper to replace the engine with a used engine. Before you ask there was no warranty. I should have known better but regardless this was a total scam job! My mechanic said that they had to have known what they were selling me, most likely a reject engine from ford. Any advice would be great. P.S. have been a excellent buyer on Ebay for many years but since this happened my faith has been shaken and my purchasing has dropped of the cliff! Anyhow buyer beware but any advise would be great, Thank you for your time.

My advice would be:

1) Donâ€™t buy engines off eBay.

2) If you insist on buying an engine off eBay, do not wait 8 months to have it installed.

This is frequently an indication of a cracked head. It's much less common for it to happen to two cylinders at the same time though. Maybe it's just the head gasket failed between the cylinders, but, surely, any mechanic would have thought of that immediately. You should at least have the mechanic pull the head and check/replace the gasket. If it turns out that it is only the gasket, hurry down and buy a lottery ticket while your luck is running hot.
