Was scammed by an Aqualine shipper. Ebay sided with the seller
Was scammed by a seller using Aqualine shipping and tracking. My carrier confirmed that the package was not sent. eBay ruled in favor of the scammer. What are my options?

1) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the Post Office if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps here:
2) Then, report the seller using this process

Important, select "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller use a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:

- https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Just send a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you.

OP11 months agoThank you so much. No package was sent. No package was scheduled for that day to me or my address according to the Post Office manager, and the carrier stated there was no package. The seller in Oklahoma, but presumably really overseas, sent several lengthy thank you messages, after purchase, after they created the fake tracking number, and after the delivery that did not occur. Silence since then, but eBay A. I. stated that they posted tracking info proving that the package was delivered, and suggested I check with my apartment neighbors. Case was closed within 48 hours in favor of the seller.

Mentor11 months ago@jessicafrancis90 Did you try appealing through FB reporting it as a False Tracking scam?
We Mentors have been pushing for a better system to catch these bad sellers. The problem lies in how much tracking information eBay can see when the shipping label is purchased offsite.
If that doesn't work then you will have to file a chargeback with your funding source.

OP11 months agoThank you again. Was again denied due to the tracking number and info as proof of delivery. I remember the Post Office manager looking up the tracking on the Aqualine site saying that it was obviously contrived, as there was an impossible move from Oklahoma to North Carolina to Virginia in under 24 hours. May have been A I still. Will have to wait until Tuesday to talk to a human. Will have my wife try the Facebook link that you gave me. Have a very nice day.

OP7 months agoTalked to the manager at the Post Office over the phone about the latest scam. The package was 8 oz, and delivered to a different address than mine. Was a 4 to 5 lb order. Not worth the drive to get her note and signature for $16, unless I am going for another reason. What a clever scam this is.

OP11 months agoMy wife went to the Facebook link and actually got a real person to acknowledge that the transaction was likely a scam, and a familiar one. Told her it would take a few days to get through the process, particularly with the Monday holiday.

Also don't file a chargeback with your bank or credit card yet or eBay can no longer help you.

OP7 months agoIt happened again. Seller of soap from Israel. Has ignored all messages. Suddenly overnight a thread of tracking appeared, and package delivered at 4.48 PM. Our mail arrived at 1.30 PM. Appears to be a USPS tracking number, however. What are my options?

OP7 months agoThe tracking info appeared suddenly overnight (12/17-18), but the delivery date was the previous day, Tues, 12/16. The mail arrived at 11.30 that day, not 4.48 PM. I need to check on the weight of the package. Was 24 6oz bars of soap.

OP11 months agoWe talked to Charles at eBay in Utah today. Finally a real person, but he said there was nothing he could do to help me, although he agreed that the tracking info looked suspicious. The tracking number is proof in favor of the seller, and appeals were denied and the case is closed. He recommended that we take it up with our bank.

OP7 months agoStill waiting for a resolution from my bank, which asked for a statement from my Post Office manager as evidence of no package received there. In the meantime, have been scammed by another seller from Israel, who the day after my purchase informed eBay that he'd be away for 3 weeks. I requested to cancel the order, and he declined of course, and is not answering my e-mails. What is the point of clicking on USA only if the seller from overseas can list his location as the U. S?

OP7 months agoI requested a return for wrong item sent on Dec 18. eBay automation said I could ask them to intervene on Dec. 22. Then they changed the date to Dec 23, which is today. When I clicked on, they had changed again to the end of Dec. 24. 3 business days, originally, has now become 5. Feels like a runaround.
