Warranty issue
I bought an item in June with a one year warranty. The pump now fails to work. I explained this to the seller, but they simply offered me $100 on a $385 pump. I declined their offer and asked for a return authorization and a refund. They simply closed the return transaction. What now?

Mentor1 month agoWarranties are offered by the manufacturer not eBay or the seller. The eBay money back guarantee is for 30 days so a return would not be available. Even credit cards have limits to the time frame for money back. I really don't think there is anything you can do.

OP1 month agoThe seller advertises the one year warranty. I expect to have that warranty available. Has the seller no responsibility for their add? Or, can I advertise a 10 year warranty on everything I sell and then shrug my shoulders when the product goes bad before that, hiding behind the “30 day” return period? Something seems missing in the contractual mechanisms here.

Mentor1 month agoI understand your frustration but the only thing offered to you is the 30 day money back guarantee. That is offered through eBay, not the seller. Sellers can't even go back to a transaction that old so I'm not sure how a seller can claim a warranty. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
