Warranty claim - seller not responding
Fitbit watch with 12 month warranty. Seller initially very responsive. They agreed the watch is faulty and suggested replacement. After a week or so without additional feedback, I messaged asking for an update. They did not repsond. Another week later I suggested they need to respond or I will be forced to elevate the issue. They did not respond.
Now I can't seem to find a way forward. I can't find any information on how to force a resolution. Please help.

Mentor2 years agoThe easiest way is to go to your Purchase history, locate the item. You have 30 days from date of receipt. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. You will need to click on MORE to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. You print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
If the seller has a no returns policy, ebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps the seller's No Returns policy if the item never arrives, or it is Not as Described. The No Returns policy is only good for buyer's remorse: changed mind, didn't like it, doesn't fit, found it cheaper elsewhere. For those reasons, the seller can decline a return.
If it has been more than 30 days since receipt of the item, file a Returns Request with Paypal if that is how you paid. Paypal accepts cases within 180 days from the transaction. As a last resort, contact your credit card issuer if that is how you paid.
If the seller is NOT located in your country, s/he cannot supply a return label good in your country. S/he will have to send enough money to cover return shipping and you purchase the return shipping. Once tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you in full. If no refund within 2 days, you go back to the Returns Request and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.

OP2 years agoThe main problem is my watch is faulty AFTER the 180 days had elapsed. So now I can't clik on a "return" button. And i can't review the seller, ie give them one star, because that option to review has also elapsed. So the seller knows they don't have to do anything, because there is no negative outcome for them. This is a major flaw. I'll certainly be re-considering buying from eBay in the future for items with a decent warranty.
