Want to return guitar that doesn’t work
I bought a guitar as a gift for my brother March 2nd, it arrived July 10th. Took them 4 months to give me a shipping label (I probably should’ve canceled because of how long it took In hindsight).
The guitar was advertised as a left handed one, it arrived set up for right handed players. The strings don’t stay tuned, the bridge pins aren’t properly attached (found one on the floor after opening the package) and the whammy bar falls out of the bar it’s supposed to go inside.
I feel a little scammed to be honest.
The return window closed before the guitar arrived and the seller keeps suggesting alternatives opposed to returning it.
It’s very disheartening because I feel like I’m stuck with something that can’t even be properly played because it’s made for the wrong dominant hand.
Can I get some advice on where to go from here?

OP2 years agoI’m looking at it more now, eBay’s website says it’s still being delivered to me but the actual shipping info says it’s been delivered. Maybe it’s not giving me the option because eBay’s site thinks it’s being shipped?
thank you this is my first time having to attempt to return something I have no idea what I’m doing 😖

Mentor2 years agoThe return window is open for thirty days after tracking shows you received the item. So why do you think it is closed?
You need to open a Return Request for an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED. Seller will pay for the return, if he wants it back, and/or refund. If no response by the fourth day, go back and ask ebay to step in. Do not close or let the case expire without doing this, if not resolved.
Otherwise you can still open a dispute through the payment processor, but you may now have to pay the return shipping rather than the seller to get your refund.
