Want to cancel a return BUT I returned the wrong item (vendor mix-up)

Hello in the Ebay community,

Hasty Ebay return goof up by me. I sent a similar item (from Amazon) back to the wrong seller on Ebay for a refund. The Ebay seller has received my incorrect similar item but will reship back to me. Now-I need to cancel the return BUT I don't see the "cancel return" option because the Ebay seller has received by incorrect item. How can I cancel the return? Can the Ebay seller do this from their dashboard?

Hi @scotianjack

The Seller will see a "Refund the Buyer" message on the return claim since delivery to them is confirmed. They "might" try just refunding you some small amount to clear the return claim but if they do NOT act within 48 hours eBay will close it on them automatically AND refund you in full. The Seller will get an unresolved nasty defect on their account.

If the Seller is new they may not know all of this ... you can share any or all of this post with them.
