Waiving required signature
Summary: jbrad288 is selling a brand new, sealed iPad and is concerned after the buyer requested to waive the required delivery signature. The buyer missed the initial delivery and claimed the postal service didn't deliver on the second attempt, now asking for the signature requirement to be waived. jbrad288 is unsure if this request is normal and feels uneasy about the situation.
I'm selling an iPad. It's brand new and still boxed and sealed. I shipped item immediately. First attempt to buyer was a not successful because he was not home to receive order. Buyer told me he'd be there the next day to get order and sign and if he didn't then he's go directly to the postal office to pick it up. The next day comes and he says postal didn't come and asked if I can just waive the required signature for delivery for Monday (the next attempt). I'm starting to feel uneasy about this. Is it normal for people to ask for the seller to waive the required signature ??

If it is the Post Office, they will hold it at the buyer's local branch office and the buyer can pick it up and sign for it. USPS has a form that they will leave the recipient to tell them to pick up the package.
