Summary: ray_42710 expressed frustration over eBay automatically charging them for a purchase shortly after winning a bid, despite being initially informed they had more time to pay. They struggled to resolve the issue and were unable to contact live support. Additionally, they are facing delays in receiving payment for a phone they sold. lady_madonna explained that sellers can set auctions to require autopay and clarified that payment holds can extend up to 31 days for infrequent sellers.
Who told ebay to autopay for my order 2 hours after I won? I sure didn't. First it said I have until October 2nd, 25 minutes later it said it'll autopay using the card on file unless act to change it. I spent 90 minutes trying to figure it out. You can even talk to a live person. All you get is a run around and they just don't give a at all. They are running this place into the sewer. I cant believe how messed up this is. 5 days later im still waiting for my 500$ for the phone i sold, even after they took 75 dollars in fees for a $490 sale.

Mentor2 weeks ago · EditedSellers can set their Auctions and Make Offer listings to require a payment method for Autopay prior to you bidding or making an offer. This is a seller option and only they can turn it off. You would have seen the message about the autopay when you bid/made the offer.
You would have seen this when you bid: "By selecting Place bid, you authorize eBay to bid up to your max bid and, if you win, charge your bid amount and related costs to your account."
In regards to the phone you sold: Ebay can hold your payments up to 31 days since you are an infrequent seller.
