waiting for payment
Summary: haymeadow is frustrated with a delay in receiving payment from eBay for a sale made nearly two weeks ago. mam98031 and lady_madonna advise that funds can be held by eBay for new or infrequent sellers, especially for high-value items, and can be delayed up to 31 days. They recommend reviewing eBay's policies on payment holds and ensuring compliance with selling guidelines. mr_lincoln confirms the standard hold time for new sellers. The discussion highlights a need for understanding eBay's seller terms and processes.

Since you are an infrequent seller, and selling expensive items, Ebay can place a temporary hold on your payouts for up to 31 days.

Mentor2 weeks agoHi @haymeadow
You made the $ 999.00 sale on September 13th. New and low activity Sellers can and do have their funds held for up to 31 days. You can read about that here: Transaction holds | eBay

Mentor2 weeks agoCould you please clarify if the buyer has not paid or that Ebay has not issued the payout from your sale?

Mentor2 weeks agoI always encourage new sellers to do their homework BEFORE starting to list on Ebay. It is a JOB and should be treated as such. For the very basics, you should be reading the User Agreement you agreed to so that you could start selling on this site. As well as policy pages on HOW TO list an item as well as the policy pages on how your money is processed. These are just the basics. Lots more to learn, but you really should do your homework BEFORE listing your first item.
When funds will be available
You can see when your funds will be released in Seller Hub or My eBay. However, your funds may be unavailable for longer if we have concerns about the order.
Here are some situations where transaction holds could be applied to a seller's funds and when those funds would typically be released.
A brand-new private seller
New private sellers will typically receive their funds within 2 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with an ebay label), 7 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with a third-party label), or 31 days after the buyer pays (for items sent without tracking) while they build a consistent track record. Once they've qualified to receive their funds faster, they'll typically receive their funds within 2 days of the buyer’s payment.

Mentor2 weeks agoWhy are you waiting? Have you and the buyer been communicating?
You have ways to protect yourself as a seller. When a buyer doesn't pay within 96 hours of the purchase, the seller can file for a Cancellation using the reason the buyer did not pay. The seller can then relist the item and hopefully sell it to someone that pays. The buyer gets an unpaid strike on their account.
Also I would encourage you to make sure you have your Buyer Requirements in your Site Preferences set to the strictest rules possible.
