W8ben form check time
I first uploaded my W-8BEN form and all other required information for eBay to verify my status as a non-U.S. resident at the end of January. eBay informed me that the review process would take 14 business days; however, after waiting 18 business days with still no notification, I contacted customer support again. The representative I spoke with was extremely rude and abruptly told me that I would be disconnected immediately after 30 days. Yet, after waiting two full months with still no resolution, I contacted customer support once more. The response I received was that results would be available "within the next few days"—but after waiting another week, I still hadn't received any notification. I contacted customer support for a fourth time, and this representative instructed me to re-upload all my documents and rejoin the queue. After I re-uploaded everything, I was told that results would be ready in 14 business days; however, when I contacted a fifth customer support representative, I was then told that the process would take 30 business days. Finally, last week, I escalated the matter to a supervisor, who promised to submit my case to the highest level of the review department and provide an answer within 48 hours. Yet, as of today—six days later—I still have no results. I’ve even given up on trying to connect with online customer support. Can anyone tell me—as an international student—just how many months is this verification process actually supposed to take?
